How We Handle Your Data
Information We Collect
We collect just the information needed to run your account and meet our legal obligations. This includes:
- account details: name, date of birth, residential address, email address and login credentials
- verification details: identity documents and the results of identity and location checks
- payment details: the payment methods you choose, along with deposits, withdrawals and transaction records
- play details: bets, wins, session times, limits you set and bonuses you claim
- technical details: IP address, approximate location, your device and browser type, and activity on the site
- messages: the emails you exchange with our support team
Age
An Ottawa Casino account can be held only by people aged 19 or older, and no account is opened before age verification is complete. Should we find that a minor is behind an account, we close it, void every bet placed on it and delete the personal data, unless a legal requirement obliges us to retain it. The safeguards we use are described on our Protecting Minors page.
Who We Share It With
We share personal information only with the parties that help us run the service, and only as much as each one needs:
- payment processors, including Interac, card networks, Trustly and Instadebit, to move your deposits and withdrawals
- verification and geolocation providers, who check your age, identity and location
- service providers for hosting, email delivery, game supply, security and analytics
- authorities and law enforcement, where Canadian law requires it
We never sell personal information to anyone. Each provider is bound by contract and can use your information solely for the task we assign to it.
Why We Use It
We use your information to:
- open and run your account
- handle deposits and withdrawals
- check your age, identity and place of play before you deposit anything
- prevent fraud, money laundering and irregular play
- support safer play, including limits and alerts
- answer your emails and complaints
- send promotions, only if you agree
- improve our games, lobby and site
Security
We protect your information with encrypted connections, access controls and continuous system monitoring. Personal information is visible to staff only when their job needs it. Specialist providers process payment and verification data under their own security measures. No system carries zero risk, so pick a password others cannot easily guess and keep it to yourself.
Cookies
Cookies keep you logged in, protect the site and show us how the lobby is used. Our Cookies and Tracking page lists each type and sets out how you can manage your choices.
Your Rights
You can ask us to:
- send you every item of personal data stored about you, in full
- correct inaccurate or out-of-date details
- erase your information where no legal obligation requires us to retain it
- stop us using your details for one chosen purpose, like marketing or analytics
Requests should be sent by email to [email protected]. Before acting on one, we confirm your identity, and our answer comes back by email. If a legal obligation to retain some records limits what we can do, we will tell you so.
Marketing Choices
We only send marketing emails to players who have opted in through their account settings. You can withdraw consent whenever you like: tap unsubscribe in the footer of a marketing email, change your settings or contact support by email. Account and security notices continue regardless, because your account needs them to work. Offers for Ontario players are shown in line with local rules.
Legal Grounds
We process personal information under Canadian privacy law. Which legal basis applies depends on why we use the data: your consent, what is necessary to operate the account you opened, our legal duties for age and identity checks and anti money laundering, or legitimate business purposes like preventing fraud and keeping the site secure.
Transfers Outside Canada
Some of our providers store or process data outside Canada. In those cases, they are contractually bound to give it protection close to what we apply ourselves. Information held abroad can be accessed by that country's authorities under its laws.
Changes
This page is updated whenever our partners, our services or our legal duties change. The version in force is always available here, dated from when it began to apply. Where an update makes a significant difference to how your information is used, we will send an email, or display an on-screen notice once you sign in again.
How Long We Keep It
Your data stays with us while your account is active. After closure, some records must stay with us under Canadian law, including identity, transaction and anti money laundering records, for the period the law specifies. When that period is over, we delete or anonymize the information.
Contact
For questions about your information, write to [email protected]. Contacting us from your account's registered email address helps us verify your identity.
